The HTC Thunderbolt from Verizon Wireless is thought to be the first 4G LTE phone that will release with the carrier. The phone was promised by the end of the second quarter, but many rumors showed the phone is set for a first quarter release. Thunderbolt release date rumors started back in February, and have continued on week after week.
Although Verizon Wireless has never officially announced a release date for the device, there have been multiple leaked dates, and documents from the company, or vendors concluding the new Android Smartphone should have been released by now. Customers have become antsy, and Verizon and Best Buy employees seem even more confused than the rest of the Android loving population.
At any rate, the newest HTC Thunderbolt release date rumor states the phone is set to make its debut with LTE support on the eve of the CTIA in Orlando, FL. This puts the newest hinted release date as March 21st
Although a debut right before CTIA seems interesting, folks just want their phone! CTIA is the largest trade show dedicated to wireless in the U.S. The Thunderbolt was initially announced at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year.
Interestingly enough, the Thunderbolt is one of the CTIA E-Tech awards finalists. This seems odd for a phone that is not released. Especially since the public will vote online as to which devices win.
What do you think of the newest rumor which puts the HTC Thunderbolt release date as March 21st?
