Hudson, Braves shutout Padres!

Tim Hudson (10-5) continues to shine, the Braves right-hander pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing only 4 hits and one walk in picking up the victory. With the win, the Braves took the three game series from the NL West leading San Diego padres. Hudson is now 5-0 in his career against the Padres, including 2 wins this season.

Newly acquired shortstop, Alex Gonzalez had four hits in the game, and two RBI’s. Gonzalez led a Braves 13 hit attack, that included four extra-base hits. Chipper Jones collected 3 hits, and rookie Jason Heyward had 2 hits, and drove in two runs.

Clayton Richard took the lose for the Padres, allowing four runs in 6 innings. Richard’s record fell to 7-5.

San Diego travels to Pittsburgh, to take on the Pirates, in a three game series over the weekend. Kevin Correia (6-6) is scheduled to pitch for the Padres tomorrow.

The Braves travel down to Florida, for a 3 game series against the Marlins. Derek Lowe (10-8) is set to go tomorrow.
