I Lived and Loved Without Regret – 2/6/2014 – Gather WRiting Essentials

Deep within the depths of my soul

There’s a secret I must keep

I dare not reveal it to anyone

It haunts me in my sleep

There is a famous quote that says

One doesn’t recognize the really important moments

In one’s life until it is too late, true in so many ways

I know that now, as I miss my loved one’s presence

How many times did I miss a word, busy with thoughts of my own

I regret anytime I put him off, not realizing that I did

For if I hurt him in anyway at all, I’m sorry

If I realized that, I would have hung my head and hid

I’m glad we had no cross words, he was an easy man to please

I loved the ground he walked on, I was so lucky to be his

This secret that I keep belonged to us, he took it with him when he left

Made me promise to tell no one, so I’m here alone, bereft

But knowing that we still share something that goes beyond this life

Makes me feel closer to him as I whisper to him each night

I love you darling, you made me happy, I was thrilled to be your wife

And I hear him whispering in my ear, you’re always in my sight

The challenge for ThursdayFebruary 6,2014 is to create a post about regret.

The first rule to remember is to include the word “Regret”2/6/2014″ somewhere in the title. A second rule is to be sure to tag it with Thurs WE, 2/6/14, Regret. =
