Is Angelina Jolie Repressing Feelings For Old Flame?

Angelina Jolie has done some strange things as of late, such as ditching her engagement ring while in Ecuador then gifting her intended a helicopter. Although you could chalk it up to pre-wedding jitters (without a nuptial date), a forward she wrote for ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton’s book may hold the key.

Thornton recently released his book The Billy Bob Tapes: A Cave Full of Ghosts, co-authored by Kinky Friedman. The forward, however, came from a surprising source, Angelina herself. The former duo apparently still have amicable ties, despite their divorce after just three years of marriage. What’s more surprising is how much Jolie gushes the praise for her ex.

She wrote that Billy Bob has a “big beautiful heart” and he possesses “an unmatchable wit and can make you laugh until your face hurts.” Amid all the good traits she noted, there’s even a pseudo-declaration of love. “Some people walk through life able to quiet the voices in their heads. He can’t. And I, and everyone else who knows him well, we love him for it.”

It’s only natural that Angelina Jolie may have second thoughts when facing the prospect of committing her life to another person. Part of having second thoughts could easily include a certain nostalgia tinged with regret for former loves. This could explain periodically leaving her engagement ring at home or a $1 million gift to assuage any guilt for second guessing.

It’s doubtful Jolie has any plans to ditch fiancée Brad Pitt for Billy Bob, but it’s refreshing to see how the former couple maintain respect for each other. After all, Brangelina have been a couple longer than both of her previous marriages to Jonny Lee Miller and Thornton combined. Any jitters she is experiencing will surely dissipate in time.
