Is Honey Boo Boo’s Television Reign Over?

It’s possible that Honey Boo Boo’s television reign could stop at any time. That’s because the decision to continue it rests in the hands of the little diva herself.

The spin-off of Toddlers and Tiaras has created a lot of controversy during the short time it’s been on the air. The self-proclaimed “red neck” family has presented a side of America with which most people cannot relate. It is also something a lot of people don’t want to see.

At the center of all the controversy is the toddler with attitude — Alana Thompson. The six-year-old definitely has spirit, but some feel her actions and words are inappropriate for someone her age.

Has little Alana had enough of the controversy? That’s not absolutely clear. However, her mother June shared important info about television retirement with Ryan Seacrest via his radio show. She told him continuing Here Comes Honey Boo Boo rests in the hands of its star.

“…When Alana says she doesn’t want to do any more TV” or “I don’t want to do any more pageants, then we’re done,” said the beauty pageant queen’s mother. “We go back to our regular life….Nothing has really like changed since the show.”

While it seems unfathomable, June says reactions about the show have been “mostly positive”. She claims a lot of people relate to their family’s everyday lives. Maybe so, but do they allow a six-year-old to dictate everything?

As for June’s parenting style, which has often been questioned, she says she’s a parent above anything else. However, she also admits she likes being a best friend to her kids too.

As for show filming, June admits very little is off-limits. Just about everything goes, unless it’s just plain crazy. Does that mean crazier than it already is? Is that even possible?

As long as the show stays on the air, it will create controversy. It’s like watching a train wreck. Some people just can’t avert their eyes. However, anyone with empathy for children may want to try. It’s just too much to take!
