Is Robert Pattinson’s career floundering as girlfriend and Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart’s career thrives? That’s what some are saying since at least one of Rob’s recent films is deemed a colossal flop.

According to a report from Hollywood Life, Rob hasn’t been doing as well at the box office as initially expected and that has some people worried his career could flop.

“In the UK, Bel Ami underProfile Pictureperformed but in America, it’s been a commercial catastrophe,” a source says. “‘Magnolia Pictures simultaneously released it on Video on Demand but they were hopeful that the film would take off in big cities and get a nationwide cinema release. Yet it has made just over $72,000 which is staggeringly low, little more than one screen’s average for the Twilight movies.”

So how does this directly impact Robert Pattinson and his career?

“Hollywood is taking notice that outside the Twilight movies, Pattinson has the bankability of Greece. Breaking Dawn: Part 2 will be huge when it is released in November, but outside Twilight, it’s just not happening for Robert.” the source adds.

Some people in certain Hollywood circles are even behaving cruelly when referring to Rob.

“Pattinson is finding out that LA can be a cruel town. Increasingly Rob is being referred to as RIP-Patz instead of his nickname R-Patz!” the source shares.

This must make Kristen Stewart feel terrible. While she certainly knows the success of a film can come down to nothing more than the luck of the draw, she no doubt realizes this hurts Rob—and watching her career soar must be akin to a knife in his side.

Do you think Rob has what it takes to rebound following a flop like Bel Ami? Might Cosmopolis shed new light on the Twilight actor and send his career steadily climbing back to the top?
