With today’s religious holiday, Good Friday, many are wondering about which businesses and offices will be open or closed. Most importantly, many are wondering about banking and mail delivery on today’s religious holiday. So is the Post office open on Good Friday? Here’s a look at the USPS Post Office Holidays for 2010:
Friday, January 1 – New Year’s Day
Monday, January 18 – Martin Luther King Jr’s Birthday
Monday, February 15 – Washington’s Birthday (President’s Day)
Monday, May 31 – Memorial Day
Monday, July 5 – Independence Day
Monday, September 6 – Labor Day
Monday, October 11 – Columbus Day
Thursday, November 11 – Veterans Day
Thursday, November 25 – Thanksgiving Day
Saturday, December 25 – Christmas Day
Saturday, January 1, 2011 – New Year’s Day
According to the above list of USPS Holidays, the Post Office is open on Good Friday 2010 so mail will be delivered as usual. You’ll also receive mail on Saturday even though it’s part of Easter weekend. Banks are open for normal hours on Friday too, unless they are not federally regulated. The Post Office won’t be closed again until May 31, 2010 for Memorial Day. As for other businesses, it may be best to call ahead to find out if they’re open on Good Friday or the weekend.
