Jaden Smith and Justin Bieber: Why the Grammy Duet?

Jaden Smith bounced into the spotlight Sunday night at the Grammy Awards, in a surprise appearance dancing on stage with Justin Bieber, as Usher quietly bowed out. Fans were going “What? Who is that kid? Oh, right. It’s the Karate Kid. I think it’s Jaden Smith!” Sure enough, it was.

Justin Bieber, 16, and Jaden, 12, know each other pretty well, notes Hollywood Reporter. They have already worked together on the “Never Say Never” song used in the sound track of “The Karate Kid.” And in the track’s video, The Bieb refers to his younger pal Jaden as his “lil’ bro”.File:Jaden Smith.jpg

And if that isn’t enough, the two celebs have been going around Los Angeles together, stopping at theaters and giving fans a thrill, where Bieber’s “Never Say Never” is playing. Jaden’s dad, Will Smith has been helping out with Justin’s efforts to break into acting. If anyone has the connections, the senior Smith would be the one.

Let’s see—Usher helped Justin Bieber break into music, and now Will Smith is helping with his acting career. The Bieb sure knows how to pick friends.

Nothing is official yet. “We’re just kind of looking at stuff,” says Bieber. And no doubt Jaden Smith won’t be far behind sister Willow and her Wizard with a new project of his own. Stay tuned, all around.
