Jeff Conaway of Taxi and Grease fame has slipped into a coma as a result of his drug overdose. His condition is now listed as critical at a hospital in Encino, California.

According to a report from OK Magazine, Conaway was hospitalized on Wednesday for what now confirmed to be a drug overdose. He has long fought alcohol and drug addictions. He slipped into a coma in the middle of the night.

Jeff Conaway’s manager made the following statement to the media regarding the actor’s condition.

“He is in a coma and unresponsive at this time. He turned his head two days ago, but nothing since.”

In addition to his acting credits, Jeff Conaway also appeared on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky. How sad that his time there didn’t save him from the perils he now suffers.

As with so many stars who find themselves earning big bucks and living life in the limelight, Conaway got caught up in the drug scene that has taken way too many young lives throughout the years. Doctors haven’t yet announced whether or not they feel Jeff Conaway has a chance of coming out of the coma.

Hopefully if the Taxi star awakens from his coma, this experience will be enough to scare him into getting the help he so desperately needs. At just 60 years old, Conaway could still live and act for many years to come.

Prayers are going out from many fans and friends for Jeff Conaway’s recovery.
