Jennifer Aniston Inspiration for John Mayer’s ‘Shadow Days’

Jennifer Aniston was reportedly the inspiration behind John Mayer’s hit song Shadow Days. The singer reportedly loved the former Friends star and took a long time to reconcile his split from her.

According to a report from Yahoo, Mayer doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to women–even though things appear to be running smoothly for Mayer and Wide Awake singer Katy Perry.

Mayer is Jennifer Aniston <3 - Beverly Hills, CAthe subject of a break up song written by Never Ever Getting Back Together singer Taylor Swift. Swift was devastated following her break up from the handsome but questionable womanizer.

A source says Shadow Days was written as a goodbye letter to Aniston.

“It really took him a long time to get over her. He really loved her a lot,” the source explains. “He wrote the song as a farewell letter knowing [Jen] would hear it.”
