Jennifer Lawrence had a very crazy excuse for why she caused a car accident.
The Hunger Games star is obviously able to focus when it comes to playing a movie character—she was a big hit as Katniss, and her work in Winter’s Bone got her nominated for an Oscar. Her new film, Silver Linings Playbook, is also getting Oscar buzz.
However, it sounds like Jen has a hard time focusing when it comes to functioning in the real world, and she definitely lacks Katniss-like reflexes.
The actress sat down with Jay Leno to promote Silver Linings Playbook, but she ended up chatting about reality show star Alana Thompson (a.k.a. Honey Boo Boo) instead. Here’s what she said about the pint-sized pageant princess who loves guzzling go-go juice:
“I was driving home from work and I thought I saw Honey Boo Boo.”
Jay had to stop her there because what she was saying sounded a little far-fetched. She went on to explain by saying that she had passed a breast cancer parade in which people where wearing shirts that said “Boobs.” However, she thought they read, “Boo Boo.” She then saw a girl that she thought was Honey Boo Boo herself, and this caused her to crash into the car in front of her.
Hopefully this is the one and only time that the TLC star will cause a car accident (to be fair, her family is more of a train wreck).
It’s a shame that the catchphrase “You better redneckognize!” didn’t exist back when Jen was playing a girl from the backwoods in Winter’s Bone.
Some people don’t think that Honey Boo Boo should get “redneckognized,” but she did just get mentioned by a famous actress. And no one will be laughing at Alana’s family if the apocalypse happens tomorrow—since Alana’s mother stockpiles food, her family certainly won’t ever have to worry about any Hunger Games. It would certainly be interesting to hear little Alana explain what she thinks what the movie is about.
Who knows? Maybe getting mentioned by Jennifer Lawrence will make Alana Thompson decide to become an actress herself. She’d do a great job negotiating her pay with her “A dolla makes me holla!” catchphrase.
