‘Jeopardy!’: Rep. Rush Holt Challenges Watson – Congressman was a Five-Time Winner!

Jeopardy! has put Watson to the challenge again. The IBM computer went against Rep. Rush Holt. Holt has a seat in congress, and was a five-time Jeopardy! champion in 1998. He was joined by three other players from congress.

Rep. Rush Holt has more than politics under his belt. The congressman is serving his seventh YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, NY - JANUARY 13: (L-R) Host...term representing New Jersey’s 12th District, and he’s a rocket scientist! Considering Holt’s vast knowledge of the world, he should have a better chance of beating Watson than Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter.

The exhibition match wasn’t hosted by Alex Trebek. Dr. Eric Brown, IBM research scientist and a member of the team that developed Watson, and Chris Padilla, vice president for IBM Governmental Programs, did the hosting.

Rep. Holt competed against U.S. Reps. Jim Himes (D-Conn.), Rep. Nan Hayworth (R-N.Y.), and Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-La.).

So who won? Unfortunately, that information won’t be revealed until Tuesday. For now, we’ll have to take a wild guess and say it was probably Watson! Seriously, have you seen those towers the IBM guys call Watson’s mainframe?
