Jersey Shore’s Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino to release a full rap album? (VIDEO)

I’ll be first to admit that “Jersey Shore” is not one of my guilty pleasures, and for good reason.  The show is apparently wildly popular to the point it’s going to start a second season at the end of July.  There’s a lot of obnoxious characters on the show which some claimed shined a bad light on New Jersey and Italians.  One of those characters is “The Situation” who is reportedly going to release a full rap album after doing one song about his rock hard abs.

I always find it funny when some random TV celeb or even a sports star decides to make a record.  It’s even more hilarious (or painful to the ears) when they decide after one gimmick record to release an entire album full of their music.  There’s been all sorts of wannabe rappers and singers out there who really had no business trying the craft.   Remember Deion Sanders’ “Must be the Money” song and video?  Some NBA players also come to mind including Kobe Bryant, Ron Artest and Allen Iverson.  They realize they have the money to pay for studio time so they put together some stuff while friends pretend they’re good.  Then the general public laughs at their music for a brief time until it’s forgotten.  The latest to join those ranks is “The Situation”, who is Mike Sorrentino from “Jersey Shore”.  He’s not an NBA star, but a reality TV “star”.

According to PopEater, Sorrentino is hard at work in the studio doing some remixes and a full album.  He mentioned that he’s “lyrically gifted, so to speak, and definitely not too bad on the mic at all”.  He also told the giggly female Popeater reporter that he always has a “situation” going on.  We do have a situation here, this guy shouldn’t be allowed in rap studios to record songs with autotune effects.

Apparently The Situation’s rap song is some sort of pulsating dancefloor track.  Oddly enough, it’s on sale on iTunes and somehow he was able to work with Fatman Scoop, DJ Class and The Disco Fries for the song.  Here’s a 50 second YouTube video clip of “The Situation” rap song.  Do you think this guy has any business making a full album, or should they donate the studio time to someone with real talent?
