A case of mistaken identity led Beverly, Massachusetts police to believe they were hot on the tails of Jessica Linscott and Roland Dow. The couple has been on the run for a week and they are wanted by the U.S. Marshalls, for the brutal abuse of Linscott’s 3-year-old son, James.

Saturday night, Beverly police converged on a house at 18 Dunham Road. The homeowner admitted to police that a young couple was staying with them, but had fled when police arrived and the man’s name was Roland. A foot chase ensued, as well as a helicopter sweep of the area, and the man was found in a shed, with the woman escaping. As it turns out, though the man’s name was Roland and he did have warrants for his arrest, he was not Roland Dow, and the woman was not Jessica Linscott.

How embarrassing for the Beverly Police Department! In their defense, there was some vague resemblance to Linscott and Dow and, if someone is running from the cops, the cops are going to chase them. If you’re running, you must have something to hide, which turned out to be true, in this case, as this Roland did have warrants. It just wasn’t the Roland they were looking for.

So, basically, this means that the couple from New Hampshire, who allegedly beat, burned, and nearly blinded her son, are still out there, not taking responsibility for their heinous actions, not being punished for the crimes, believed to have been committed by them. Really, though, how long do they think they can hide? Do they really think they will never be found?

It is believed that the duo are actually on there way back to New Hampshire, possibly on the way to Maine, where they are believed to have friends. Also, they are said to be driving a 2009 blue Dodge Caravan with New Hampshire license plate number 2844129. Should you have any information about the couples’ whereabouts, it’s requested that you call 911. These two must be held accountable for their actions. Clearly, they aren’t going to surrender themselves, at this point, so someone is going to have to turn them in. It makes you wonder what kind of people have been helping these fugitives, knowing they are wanted for abusing little James. It’s time for them to face the music.
