After Kate Middleton married Prince William, the Royal Family made it clear that the newlywed couple would only take on limited public engagements so that they could enjoy normal married life as much as possible. Prince William was also eager to continue his job as a search and rescue pilot with the Royal Air Force. While the couple has had a very busy 2012, with their domestic and overseas engagements due to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, it seems that 2013 will be even busier. A job opening strongly suggests that the prince, with his wife by his side, will take on even more royal duties in the upcoming year.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are looking to add a press officer to the prince’s communications team. “The post has been created to take into account the growing work of the communications team, especially in light of the impending Household Office move to Kensington Palace, which is taking place from the end of December through to Easter next year,” a spokesperson said of the job opening, which will pay £30,000 and requires that the person be skilled with “digital media.”

Prince William has made no secret of his love for his job and his desire that he and Kate Middleton be able to live life as much as possible away from the spotlight. As time goes on however, it’s only natural that the British taxpayers demand that they do more for their pay and affection. The royal couple’s search for another communications team personnel shows that they’re responding accordingly.
