Former *NSYNC singer Joey Fatone really wants to win Dancing With the Stars when he competes in the all-star season this fall. Coming in second to Apolo Anton Ohno during season 4 was great, but this time he wants to win. He even has a strategy in place to make sure that happens.
According to a report from People.com, Joey thinks he took everything much too seriously when he competed on DWTS in season 4, and he’s vowed to change things up a bit.
“I’m not going to take stuff too seriously,” he says. “Dancing is supposed to be fun and have emotion. I’m just going to be myself – that’s all I can be.”
Even though Fatone learned some fancy dance moves while part of *NSYNC, he realizes he’s (much!) older now and the dances are a far cry from what he, Justin Timberlake and the others performed back in the 1990s.
“The worst part is the long rehearsal hours,” he says. “But I like pushing myself and hanging out with the other cast members.”
Do you think Joey Fatone has what it takes to win Dancing With the Stars this coming season? He’s up against some pretty stiff competition with Kirstie Alley, Pamela Anderson, Kelly Monaco, Shawn Johnson, Helio Castroneves, Drew Lachey, Emmitt Smith, Apolo Ohno (yes, the one who beat Joey–rendering him the runner-up), Gilles Marini and Bristol Palin. A thirteenth contestant will be voted upon. Joey doesn’t want to be runner-up again.
“I came in second the last time,” he says. “Now I want to win.”
