John Legend and Jordin Sparks paid tribute to Whitney Houston Sunday night, with a performance at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards to honor the fallen star.

In what was an emotional performance, the pair joined forces to put on a phenomenal show honoring the late, great Houston, with Whoopi Goldberg presenting Bobbi Kristina and her sister-in-law accepting the Millennium Award in her wake. Though there is no one on Earth who can match her prowess, Legend and Sparks did justice to Houston’s memory and legacy.

John Legend gave a powerful performance of “The Greatest Love of All,” moving members of the audience to tears. Following closely on his heels, Jordin Sparks took the stage with a full orchestra behind her, performing the sensationally beautiful, “I Will Always Love You.” Though John Legend and Jordin Sparks both did Houston proud, Jordin Sparks was the clear winner of the evening, rendering Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, to tears.
