John Lennon’s Abbey Road suit is for sale! The iconic suit on the cover of the Beatle’s “Abbey Road” album will go on the auction block. The Auction house, Braswell Galleries, will sell the items on new years day. Memorabilia up for grab also include a station wagon that Yoko Ono and Lennon owned.
Apparently, John Lennon’s items are privately owned. They are not the property of Yoko Ono. Auction house co-owner Gary Braswell stated the current owner is facing financial hardship. Selling Lennon’s memorabilia was probably not something the owner had planned to do when he bought them.
Memorabilia to be auctioned off include Lennon’s Abbey Road suit, the blazer Lennon wore in the “Imagine” music video and a 1972 Chrysler station wagon John Lennon shared with Yoko Ono. Apparently, in 2005, the Abbey Road suit and the blazer sold for an astonishing $120,000! Lennon’s items have probably appreciated since 2005.
Braswell Galleries is located in Connecticut. Interested buyers should probably take a trip out there. It’s unlikely these three items will be up for sale again.
