Musician John Mayer has become part of recent controversy due to his Playboy interview. The interview which has Mayer candidly discussing his relationships with former girlfriends such as Jen Anniston and Jessica Simpson, also has him discussing fame, defending his character and more. Unfortunately, he may have opened up a can of worms so to speak with comments he made when answering Playboy’s question “Do black women throw themselves at you?” Mayer described his genitalia as “sort of like a white supremacist” or “David Duke”, saying he needs to date separately from his manhood’s preferences. The John Mayer Playboy interview transcript available online has Mayer discussing some of his favorite women as well:
“PLAYBOY: Let’s put some names out there. Let’s get specific.
MAYER: I always thought Holly Robinson Peete was gorgeous. Every white dude loved Hilary from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. And Kerry Washington. She’s superhot, and she’s also white-girl crazy. Kerry Washington would break your heart like a white girl.”
Mayer also discusses his relationship with Jen Anniston, saying he is very protective of her, but he wanted to be able to live like a 32 year old still:
“PLAYBOY: Do you still love her?
MAYER: Yes, always. I’ll always be sorry that it didn’t last. In some ways I wish I could be with her. But I can’t change the fact that I need to be 32.
PLAYBOY: Last June she was given an award from Women in Film. In her acceptance speech she pointed out that the titles of her films closely parallel her private life. Then she asked if anyone in the audience had “a project titled Everlasting Love With an Adult, Stable Male.†It seems as if she was referring to you.
MAYER: I imagine I’ve got something to do with that. Parts of me aren’t 32. My ability to go deep with somebody is old soul. My ability to commit and be faithful is old soul. But 32 just comes roaring out of me at points when I don’t see it coming. I want to dance. I want to get on an airplane and be like a ninja. I want to be an explorer. I want to be like The Bourne Identity. I don’t want to pet dogs in the kitchen.”
The Mayer Playboy interview also mentions how he was addicted to Jessica Simpson like “sexual napalm”, and how he feels about being called a womanizer or “man whore”. Mayer definitely opens up to the popular men’s magazine. You can view the full John Mayer Playboy interview transcript here. Be aware there is offensive language and subject matter throughout the article.
