Jon Gosselin Tries to Stop Kate from Taking Kids to Australia

Jon Gosselin made an attempt to stop ex-wife Kate from taking the divorced couple’s eight children to Australia, where they have plans to film Kate Gosselin’s show “Kate Plus Eight.”

According to a report from RadarOnline, Jon even went to court and asked a judge not to allow Kate to take the kids to Australia. However, because the trip was deemed “work-related,” the judge said he saw no reason to prevent the children from going.

It seems that Jon Gosselin had made plans to spend New Year’s with the children, but because of this trip he won’t see them until they arrive back home some time in mid-January. Friends say Gosselin is trying to present a brave face in light of the judge’s ruling, but say in truth he is very disappointed that his plans with the kids had to be scrapped.

Jon and Kate Gosselin have played games with one another since well before their divorce. It would seem that these two would wake up to the fact that when divorced parents play games it’s almost always the kids who suffer.

Jon Gosselin has recently tried his hand at leading a “normal” life away from show business. He has taken a job with a real estate development company and is said to have a girlfriend who is a very nice person. Kate, on the other hand, continues to make her money from reality shows and personal appearances, often leaving the children in the care of nannies in her absence.

Was Jon Gosselin right in attempting to stop Kate from taking the kids to Australia or was he making too much of a big deal over one weekend with his kids? That is something known only to Gosselin himself, but it does sound as though he’s trying to provide the children with some normalcy and consistency, things they don’t see a lot of when in the care of Kate.
