Justin Bieber: Selena Gomez Becoming Jealous Of JB Fans

Filed in Gather Celeb News Channel by on June 22, 2011 0 Comments

Justin Bieber’s girlfriend, Selena Gomez, is the envy of teenage girls around the world. While some beliebers actually like Selena and are, or at least pretend to be, happy that she makes JB happy, others despise her. And they’ve made their disapproval known online with hateful slurs and even death threats. At best, most beliebers simply tolerate Selena’s presence hoping she’ll someday disappear, allowing their idol to see the light and marry one of them. Right. Ah, fans.

But what of Selena Gomez? How does she feel about the beliebers? Does she hate them? Pity them? Ignore their insignificant existence? Or does she envy them in return?

What? Selena Gomez, the former Disney princess? The star of the recently-wrapped series, The Wizards of Waverly Place, and leading lady in the eagerly-awaited movie Monte Carlo, jealous of junior high school girls? In what parallel universe can such a situation exist?

Reportedly, the “Love You Like A Love Song” singer is becoming “increasingly envious” of the Teen Dream’s relationship with his beliebers. In fact, an inside source claims:

“Selena has become more and more insecure because of the way Justin is with his fans. Justin is a real flirt and loves the attention. While he tells Selena there’s nothing in it, she can’t help but feel upset about it and she told him so.”

Yikes. While it seems far-fetched, there might be some validity to this story. Despite her obvious poise and apparent sophistication, Selena Gomez is only 18. If she is truly as head over heels in love with her Never Say Never guy as she seems, it would be only natural for her to feel insecure at times, since her boyfriend is probably the most desired male celebrity alive on a planet full of females just itching to spirit him away. Furthermore, Justin Bieber maintains a more personal relationship with his fans than any other teen idol past or present — mostly via Twitter. In a recent Tweet of her own, Selena commented rather ruefully on just that fact:

“He always puts his fans first,” she wrote. “The only thing he talks about is his beliebers.”

Later, she added: “They’re telling me I stole their boyfriend, but he was never theirs.”

Well, at least Selena and the beliebers are honest with each other. Hopefully, that will open up new lines of communication, because it looks like Selena Gomez is going to be in Justin Bieber’s life for a long time. And as the lady herself admits, she never set out to be a role model. She’s just doing the best she can.

Hang in there, Selena. You too, beliebers.
