Justin Bieber and his girlfriend, Selena Gomez, are surely one of the hottest young couples on the Hollywood scene at the moment–from Bieber’s skyrocketing music career and his chart-topping new “Boyfriend” track (and more hits to come from his Believe album) to Gomez’s dynamic transition from the concert stage to the movie set. And while it’s hard to think of one pop sensation without the other in this PDA-packed relationship, the “Baby” singer recently chatted with Billboard magazine–but kept things focused purely on the professional rather than the personal.
Bieber, 18, poses for the cover of the publication’s latest issue–looking hip-hop cool and all grown-up–and his maturity shows with his philosophy on fame and how he copes with his crush of Beliebers at every turn, not to mention the paparazzi.
“Your life is out there a lot more, especially nowadays when everybody has a HD camera phone on them at all times. But my career launched from the Internet, so without it, I feel like I wouldn’t even be here. I owe a lot of my success to social media, to Twitter, to YouTube and Facebook. It is also a great way to interact with fans,” Justin Bieber said, as Just Jared reports.
His attitude is an admirable one. Not only does he have a veritable love affair with his fans who support him, he practices what he preaches on the social media side, sharing plenty of moments and photos (some even with Gomez!) with his followers. And, with the exception of a few lapses in judgment and less-than-attractive run-ins with the shutterbugs, Bieber seems to handle the constant spotlight relatively well.
As for one of his biggest inspirations, Justin Bieber skipped over Selena Gomez (although she likely influenced his rapper-like “Boyfriend” lyrics and a few other tracks!). Instead, he cited Michael Jackson. Can’t argue with that! The Biebs told Billboard, “For me, he’s the greatest–he’s the Kind of Pop–and everything I do, I do to be the greatest.”
Again, another sign that Bieber has the right attitude. He seems to be dedicated to his career and his craft for the right reasons. Rather than being obsessed with fame for fame’s sake, he appears to really be in tune with being the best performer and entertainer he can be.
