Justin Bieber Thefts Scam for New Video Promo

Justin Bieber pulled a fast one on his fans when he claimed a laptop and camera were stolen from him while her was on stage on Tacoma, Washington. Messages following the purported thefts were part of the scam, too.

Today (Friday, October 12th) at noon, footage of Justin was to be released by the ‘thief’ if he didn’t comply with their demands. At noon on Friday, a link to Justin’s new video with Nicki Minaj arrived via Twitter, from @Gexwy—the person who supposedly stole the laptop and camera.

How do you feel about Justin using this kind of a ‘scare’ tactic to promote his new video? Do you think fans feel duped by the faux theft he staged?

Here’s how it all went down on Friday.

Justin started a big rant on Twitter at about 11:00 AM using the hashtag #noon.

At 12:00 on the nose, @Gexwy tweeted, “u have dealt with a lot of rumors for a very long time. as a kid. with the whole world watching. u ready for more?”

Justin replied, tweeting “since i was 14 i have had a lot of things said about me, from dying, to taking hormones, to dying again, to stuff about my family to saying i had a baby with a woman i never even met. nude pics, drugs, my family, my character…but today…today i get to be in on it.”

@Gexwy then wrote, “HERE IT IS,” and included the link to Justin and Nicki Minaj’s video.
