Kate Middleton’s topless photos will soon be available in Italy. An Italian publication called Chi will reportedly publish them very soon despite the lawsuit filed against a French publisher for doing the same thing. Will the royal family file suit against Chi as well?

According to a report from RadarOnline, Chi editor Alfonso Signorini defends his publication’s decision for publishing the topless photos.Kate Middleton Style Blog

“The fact that these are the future rulers of England makes the article more interesting and topical,” he explains. “This is a deserving topic because it shows in a completely natural way the daily life of a very famous, young and modern couple in love.”

When asked if Chi will be served with the type of lawsuit that Closer now faces, a rep for the royal family stayed rather mum.

“We will not be commenting on potential legal action concerning the alleged intended publication of the photos in Italy save to say that all proportionate responses will be kept under review,” the rep said in a statement to the media.

The royal family’s representative didn’t sound vindictive, however, but almost sad instead. He indicated (or at least it’s assumed he’s a ‘he’) that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s privacy being invaded this way is far more of a painful occurrence than one that provokes anger.

Are the powers-that-be behind this Italian publication crazy? Or do they feel the lawsuit against their sister publication will fizzle out and result in little to no monetary loss for the publishing company? Do they perhaps stand to make more money by publishing Kate Middleton’s topless photos than they stand to lose in a lawsuit? What will Prince William say when he sees these photos have gone public yet again?
