Kate Middleton’s Sister Pippa Middleton Talks about Advantages of Fame

While Pippa Middleton is a young woman who, given her education, fun personality, and pretty looks, would’ve gone far in life no matter what, she’s the first to admit that she wouldn’t be so famous and have so many opportunities if it wasn’t for the fact that her sister, Kate Middleton, ended up marrying Prince William and becoming the Duchess of Cambridge. In her new party planning book, Celebrate: A Year Of British Festivities For Families And Friends, she candidly writes about how “startling” it’s been to achieve such fame so easily.

Referring to herself as “a typical girl in her 20s trying to forge a career and represent herself in what can sometimes seem rather strange circumstances,” she writes that “it is a bit startling to achieve global recognition before the age of 30 on account of your sister, your brother-in-law, and your bottom.”

“I certainly have opportunities many can only dream of… One of the most attractive has been the chance to publish [this book] Celebrate… I know many of you will pick up the book out of nothing more than curiosity,” she admits, before reminding everyone that she’s qualified to write the book because of her work at her family’s business and a London-based events company.

It’s quite refreshing that Pippa Middleton acknowledges that her fame and opportunities have basically been handed to her. It’s evident that she shares Kate Middleton’s open and down-to-earth personality. No matter how her book does, she should be applauded for publicly recognizing how very lucky she is and not pretending that it’s all down to her talents.
