A California kayaker survived a kayak shark attack. According to Joey Nocchi, 30, a 14-foot Great White Shark rolled him over as he was kayaking with friends near Cambria, Calif.

Kayak Shark Attack in California Survived by KayakerAccording to Nocchi, “I got hit from underneath and started coming up out of the water. My buddies said I came out of the water 4 to 5 feet—it flipped me over the side. The shark rolled the whole kayak over, rolled me out of it, and he went over the top of it. He swam across me—his tail touched me.”

What a scary ordeal this had to have been for the group! A friend of Nocchi said that the shark behaved in the manner that they do when the attack, so it is astonishing that this group survived this kayak shark attack in the Pacific Ocean.

Nocchi got back to his damaged kayak as quickly as he could, and he made a beeline for the shore. His boat had a huge bite taken out of it. Thank goodness this group survived because it could have been much worse if the shark had taken a bite out of one of them instead of the boat.

Do you kayak in the ocean? If so, have you ever worried about sharks? What would you do if one attacked you?
