Kellie Pickler Shaves Head to Support Friend

Country cutie Kellie Pickler may look a little different now days. She revealed this morning on Good Morning, America that she now has a shaved head to support her good friend, Summer Holt Miller who is currently battling breast cancer. The video showed the two friends getting a buzz together in Nashville as their locks fell softly to the floor. Pickler didn’t even seem to blink an eye as the shaver rolled across her head.

Country music comes to Cherry PointSummer was diagnosed with cancer in June and her country singer friend has stood by her side ever since. The 36-year-old mother-of-two just recently revealed that she had a double mastectomy and will begin chemotherapy on September 6. Her family has a history of breast cancer but she said that she had not been very diligent getting regular mammograms. “If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it,” Miller said. That is certainly such a young age to have to deal with this kind of thing. She certainly is a fighter.

These two beautiful women are stuck together like glue and will ride this battle together. In fact, Pickler calls Miller her ‘sister’. Athena Water is also getting involved by making a minimum $2 million donation to the American Cancer Society in Miller’s honor. You can follow her journey on their website very soon.

Kellie Pickler has shown the best side of her. Fans have known the 26-year-old to be sweet and talented but this act of friendship is just one way to show her ultimate support and to be the best friend she can be.
