Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries Earning Million for Wedding Cover?

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries might be looking at a fairly decent compensation package for their upcoming wedding — that is, if they make it to the altar! Amid the Kardashian cheating rumors currently being flung around by NFL player Bret Lockett, along with constant public scrutiny that will only be magnified with the season premiere of Keeping Up with the Kardashians on Sunday night, the couple is facing some rocky relationship moments.

All rockiness aside, chances are K.K. will walk down the aisle and soon, especially if rumors about her and Humphries’ People payday are true. The magazine is apparently betting big on the Kardashian-Humphries wedding, reportedly striking a deal to the tune of $1 million in exchange for a cover and exclusive coverage. While both sides deny any deal-making, it’s not too far-fetched to believe, especially since the magazine just recently paid $300,000 for the Kim Kardashian engagement and ring story.

But, insiders are now revealing that the weekly may be experiencing a bit of buyer’s remorse. “People‘s Kim engagement cover sold well, but did not [do] as well as they hoped,” said a source. “Over a million copies were sold, which is good but not their best.”

It’s only expected that when a magazine shells out big bucks, they expect a huge return. It looks like Kim Kardashian may not be delivering — yet. But, don’t discount the enterprising reality show star. It seems unlikely that the public’s fascination with Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries is waning.

“Some [People] editors think the cheating scandal and the over-the-top ring and wedding could be a turn-off,” continued the source, in reference to those staffers concerned about their return on that $1M investment. Surely there is no need to fear, though. Since when did scandal and extravagance ever become a hindrance to anything — from magazine sales to reality show viewership and beyond.

In fact, if People did pay $1M, it seems like they might want to thank Bret Lockett for scandalously increasing the gossip factor of the Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries engagement and future wedding. Next stop, the newsstands!
