Kourtney and Kim Take New York started because the Kardashian sisters wanted to start a new store and, well, because E! loves Kardashian drama. E! got just that on “Dash of Respect,” which aired March 20, 2011, when Khloe Kardashian joined her older sisters for the New York store’s grand opening. Of course, KKTNY wouldn’t be complete without Scott’s antics either.
After weeks of Kourtney and Kim bonding, Kim isn’t all too happy when Khloe Kardashian shows up. Kim knows how close her sisters are, and she knows she’ll be a third wheel. Sure enough, that’s what happens. They ditch her and go to the store and to lunch. They ignore her when doing the final touch-ups at the store.
This gives Kim Kardashian plenty of time to reminisce about how close she used to be with Kourtney, something that happens at least once a season in any Kardashian drama.
Through all this, Scott’s ego has inflated to three times its already huge size. With Scott Disick landing a gig to model for the cover of Men’s Fitness in November 2010, he decides it’s time for an assistant. He also decides he needs to remedy the fact that he hasn’t acted like a jerk in awhile. He purposely pushes his new assistant Dale’s buttons. “Are you opening to shaving that goatee?” Scott asks to start off. He also tells Kim: “If I wanted a friend, I would have gotten a dog.”
Kim warns Scott that he can’t keep treating Dale that way, but Scott chooses to ignore her for a bit. They head to his Men’s Fitness shoot, and Scott seems to enjoy working with all the ladies, even poking fun of himself: “I’m no Adonis when it comes to the muscles.”
But Dale has enough of his boss when Scott gets angry that Dale bought him boxer briefs, rather than boxers. Dale quits, and Scott is left to shake his head and wonder what went wrong.
Kim Kardashian sets him straight, because apparently they’ve gotten close in their time as roommates on Kourtney and Kim Take New York. Scott apologizes and asks Dale to come back; yet Dale has some self-respect. “You’re just an egotistical, pompous ass-(beep!)” Dale says. Of course, Scott is proud of Dale standing up to him; he egotistically thinks he helped give Dale a backbone.
Back to the Kardashian sisters, where Kim’s feelings get hurt again. After all, her sisters are again ignoring her at the opening party. This time it’s Scott’s turn to help Kim out; he tells Khloe and Kourtney how Kim feels, leading to a confrontation during the opening. Yet, all drama is quickly averted, the sisters promising to be more inclusive. But after the party they’re all tired–except Khloe. “I’m the married whore, and no one wants to hang out,” she says, wide awake since she’s still on LA time.
In the next new episode of Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Kris shows up, angry with Kim.
KKTNY airs on E! Sundays at 10pm Eastern.
