Kristen Stewart Comfortable in ‘On the Road’ Topless Scenes

By now everyone knows that Kristen Stewart appears topless in her upcoming film On the Road–but did her cast mate Sam Riley just insult her for the way she looks topless?

According to a report from Hollywood Life, certainly not. But if one were to quickly read over what Sam Riley did say about Kristen performing topless, it could perhaps be misconstrued.

Instead RilKristen Stewart - Beverly Hills, CAey sounds like a rather shy actor, who at best felt rather uncomfortable shooting the scenes where Kristen had her top off. Kristen, on the other hand, seemed perfectly comfortable appearing sans her top in front of her shy co-star.

“It’s a strange thing… I was pretty uncomfortable,” Sam said while at the New York City screening of On the Road. “She was 19; I was nearly 30, married… we’re mates. You just sort of do it as quickly as possible, unlike in real life. I don’t really see a future for me in erotics.”

Kristen’s unabashed pride in this role, however, could perhaps take her to that future in erotics that Riley sees as unattainable. How would Robert Pattinson feel about that?

“I can’t say it’s not a little bit jarring, but it’s jarring in the right way. I wanted it to be. I’m really proud of it,” she said.

On the Road will definitely expose Kristen Stewart (literally and figuratively) in a whole new light. Fans shouldn’t expect to see the demure Bella Swan they grew accustomed to in The Twilight Saga—or even the more daring and empowered Bella Swan in Breaking Dawn Part 2.

And while it’s great that Kristen feels comfortable in her own skin, might she confer with Robert Pattinson before taking on another such revealing role? Theirs has been a rocky relationship of late as best. She doesn’t need him questioning any of her motives down the road.
