Kristen Stewart Gets Criticized for Nude Threesome Scenes: What About Robert Pattinson?

Kristen Stewart has been criticized for leaving Twilight behind to play a hyper-sexualized character in On the Road. So is Robert Pattinson also getting criticized for some of the recent characters he has played?

In K-Stew’s latest flick, she has a few nude scenes, a threesome, and a scene where she masturbates two male characters played by Sam Riley and Garrett Hedlund. Now that she’s finished with Twilight, Kristen is obviously trying to prove that she can handle more challenging roles, but not everyone is happy with her decision.

According to OK! magazine, Dan Gainor of the Culture and Media Institute has complained about Kristen Stewart’s raunchy new role by saying this:

“How will parents who took their daughters to see the Twilight movies explain this? It is irresponsible of Stewart and manipulative of Hollywood bosses to deliberately try to destroy any sense of decency these actresses might have taught young people.”

First of all, Dan Gainor must be completely clueless when it comes to what actually goes on in the Twilight movies—Kristen’s character Bella is constantly begging Robert Pattinson’s character Edward to have sex with her, but he keeps turning her down. And what happens when she waits to marry her vampire beau before doing the dirty? She ends up pregnant and her baby’s birth is a painful bloodbath complete with broken bones. So if Mr. Gainor is a fan of conservative values, he probably shouldn’t be a fan of Twilight—it teaches girls that waiting to have sex isn’t very rewarding since it can still almost kill you.

And why isn’t Gainor criticizing Robert Pattinson for what he went on to do after Twilight? In Bel Ami he has affairs with multiple women and uses his conquests to social climb, and in Cosmopolis he cheats on his wife. So shouldn’t Gainor be worried about what effect Rob’s post-Twilight roles will have on teen girls? Since he’s so admired, won’t they now think that it’s okay to sleep with a married man and to cheat as long as their lover is hot like R-Patz? There seems to be a double standard here—it’s okay for male stars to have pretend sex with lots of different people, but apparently female stars should only play characters that stay virgins until they’re married to their undead boyfriends.

And what kind of parents are going to take their kids to see On the Road, anyway? It’s probably going to be rated R because of all the sex and nude scenes, so kids aren’t going to be exposed to it. And if parents end up explaining anything to their kids if they happen to see something about the movie, hopefully they explain to them that Kristen Stewart is just an actor playing a character and that Bella isn’t real.

Gainor might wish that Kristen and Rob only existed in the Twilight universe, but unfortunately for him they’re real adult people that can star in whichever movies they want. So if Kristen wants to play Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey, she’s going to do it. And just imagine what Mr. Gainor would say if that happened (he’d probably go watch the movie).
