In a recently unearthed interview, Kristen Stewart dished on her apprehension about social media and the fact that her unbelievable fame exposes her not only to loving fans but also to people who are possibly seriously deranged. The hate spewed on the On The Road star after the Rupert Sanders cheating scandal is, unfortunately, an excellent example. People with too much time on their hands and not enough medication immediately emerged from the woodwork with pitchforks and torches ablaze to crucify her as a monster. Their venomous attacks were not lost on KStew, and she must still worry that her fame could someday place her in a life-threatening situation.
In an interview from the e-book, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner — In Their Own Words by Talia Soghomonian, La Stewart talked at length about the price of fame.
“… nowadays it’s harder because everyone is on Facebook and everyone knows where you are all the time,” mused KStew, “and everyone’s twittering. Like I’m going to die because somebody is going to say where I am and somebody is going to kill me. Someone’s going to Twitter my location and then it’s going to be like, boom. So, I actually think too much of anything can be scary, but at the same time it’s also an opportunity. I mean mass communication is a good thing. It’s actually a really great thing, it’s just scary.”
Sadly, the Breaking Dawn Part Two star is right. A recent Hollywood Life poll reveals that most people agree with her. When asked: “Do you think Kristen should actually be worried about her safety?” a whopping 69.65 majority responded with an unequivocal “Yes!” No one was undecided.
Hopefully, the sort of horrific scenario Kristen envisions in her worst nightmares will never come to pass.
