Eccentric pop divas, Lady Gaga andCyndi Lauper sat side by side on ABC’s “Good Morning America” Wednesday to talk about a major women’s health issue. They are the new faces of an AIDS awareness campaign.
The campaign is recognizing that women are at a much greater risk for contracting HIV/AIDS. Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper promoted their own Viva Glam lipsticks forMAC makeup. The proceeds will be benefiting women with the disease.
They spoke about their mutual respect for one another. Lady Gaga did admit that she was feeling slightly humbled to be sitting by her side. She said:
“It’s easy for us to work together. We have a lot in common. Cyndi and I have talked about how, for me growing up, my mother was the one who taught me about makeup, and watching her do her makeup in the morning was a very special moment for us. I’m hoping, and Cyndi’s hoping, that mothers and sisters and best friends buy each other a lipstick and say, ‘This lipstick represents you protecting yourself, having safe sex, and remembering to have loving, monogamous relationships to protect you and those around you.”
Cyndi said this about Gaga:
“She’s such a good kid, Lauper said of Gaga. Â It’s your time, it’s time to be really creative — don’t listen if somebody says, ‘You can’t do that.’ There’s no you can’t…just do it.”
So how about a duet? It’s a possibility-in the spirit of spreading awareness.
