Singer Lady Gaga was scheduled to play Indiana’s Purdue University last night, but the show got cancelled at the last minute. After the opening act, Semi Precious Weapons and Jason DeRulo performed, the crowd was then informed this:

“Lady Gaga will not be able to take the stage this evening due to sudden illness. Due to exhaustion and dehydration, Lady Gaga collapsed and passed out before her show tonight in West Lafayette, Indiana,” Her physician has advised her to take a few days off to rest.”

Lady Gaga’s rep didn’t say how long she would be out of commission for but the Purdue show has been rescheduled for Jan 26th.

Her current schedule has many dates coming up. She is scheduled to appear at New Jersey’s Borgata Casino tomorrow night, January 16th. She then has gigs the following two nights, in Wallingford and Uncasville, Connecticut, before she has a one-day break in her schedule. After that, she is set to play four high-profile shows at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on January 20th, 21st and 23rd and 24th. Then after the Manhattan shows, Gaga’s next tour date is February 18th in England, where she launches a three-month international tour.

Lady Gaga feels really bad about having to cancel the show. She tweeted about it on her Twitter page and also apologized on her Facebook page. She informed fans that she is devastated that she missed a performance. She wrote this below to her fans:

“I’ve been crying for hours, I feel like I let my fans down 2nite. An hour before the show, I was feeling dizzy and having trouble breathing. Paramedics came to take care of me, and told me my heart-rate was irregular– a result of exhaustion and dehydration. can’t apologize enough for how sorry I am. I could hear my fans cheering from my dressing room, I begged everyone to let me go onstage. My stage has complicated mechanical elements, everyone was concerned I’d be in danger during the 2hr show, since I had passed out earlier. I am so devastated. I have performed with the flu, a cold, strep throat: I would never cancel a show just based on discomfort. I hope you can forgive me. I love my little monsters more than anything, you are everything to me. I will make-up the performance on Jan 26.”

Lady Gaga is also set to perform at the 31st’s Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. She is nominated for five categories, including Song and Record of the Year (for “Poker Face”) and Album of the Year (for The Fame).

She needs to rest and get better soon! She is an extraordinary performer and goes out of her way to please her fans. She is very appreciative of all her fans and that makes her extra special.
