Lady Gaga: Dangerous Eating Disorder or Exhaustion?

Filed in Gather Celeb News Channel by on September 5, 2010 0 Comments

Lady Gaga is no stranger to gossip.  While the rumors around her (due in part to her celebrity status, as well as her tendency towards unique and unusual behaviors) have run the gamut from the absurd (such as accusations that she was a hermaphrodite) to the confirmed (she recently confessed to Vanity Fair that she dabbles in cocaine from time to time), the latest is coming from former tour manager David Ciemny in regards to how she keeps so trim.

Ciemny recently spilled all to author Maureen Callahan, the woman behind the recently penned biography entitled Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga.  In the book, Ciemny alleges that the pop star is caught up in a dangerous cycle of binging on junk food and total calorie deprivation.  He also claims that in 2009 alone, Lady Gaga landed up in the hospital six times due to extreme dieting.

It’s no wonder that Lady Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, feels pressure to be thin.  It is not unusual for celebrities to be subjected to harsh ridicule by the media, as well as by fans and non-fans alike.  Adding fuel to the fire are the crazy, and often revealing, outfits Gaga is known for.  Aside from baring it all in her famed get ups, she’s also become a fashion icon, falling prey to unhealthy eating habits in order to get there.

Could it be, however, that Ciemny is harboring resentment or ill will towards Lady Gaga, though, for reasons behind his “former” tour manager status?  Could it just be that Gaga has been hospitalized for exhaustion, a seemingly normal result of non-stop touring and world traveling?

What do you think?
