Lady Gaga’s Meat Dress Offends PETA and the Sense of Smell

Lady Gaga has caused an uproar over her wardrobe yet again. This time over the dress and shoes made of raw meat she wore at  MTV’s VMA awards show. Probably par for the course for Miss Gaga, but disgusting this time around.

People were wondering if the dress was made of real meat. The designer of the dress, Franc Fernandez, says yes and the meat was“from my family butcher.” Under the hot lights of the show, Gaga was probably smelling pretty rank by the end of the night.

The chief scientific adviser for Grow Green Industries, Shawki Ibrahim, said other than the awful smell of the meat suit, maggots could have developed faster under the lights and she put herself at risk for E.coli. It would have caused quite a stir if maggots crawled out of the dress, but it would have made the VMAs a little more interesting this year.

There is also an issue of animal abuse and brings up the debate of whether or not wearing fur is acceptable. Head of PETA, Ingrid Newkirk said, “What’s next: the family cat made into a hat?”

Lady Gaga is always on the cutting edge of fashion, but she may have gone a bit too far with this get up. Who was the lucky person who got to sit next to her at the show? She probably got the effect she wanted — everyone is talking about her.
