Baci Di Dama or Lady Kisses.

An Italian cookie made with finely chopped almonds with a smooth chocolate center.

Posted by Loraine Piccione and found on page 158 of our book, A Taste of Utica. Go ahead. Indulge yourself in this little treat. If the weather is too cold, maybe it’s too warm, your mood is blue, or your so happy you could visit your local Dunkin Donuts and buy every one a latte, whatever the situation, it’s the right time for this little “kiss”.

Makes 14 – 16 cookies

  • 1 cup almonds, chopped fine
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened at room temp.
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 oz bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 oz butter

Preheat the oven to 350 F.

Mix the almonds, sugar, butter, and flour to a smooth dough.

Roll into 1 inch balls and place on a greased baking sheet.

Bake for 15 minutes. Allow to cool.

Melt the chocolate. Stir in the butter to a smooth melted mixture.

Dip the bottom of one cookie in the chocolate then press the bottom of another cookie into the chocolate to sandwich the cookies.

Place on waxed paper to cool.

*There may be a 2 week lapse in the Taste of Utica recipes, but don’t worry – we’ll be back and hopefully before Saint Patrick’s Day so you can enjoy the Baileys Chocolate Chip Cheesecake.
