Lauren Spierer Breaking Update: Suspicion Heavy on POI while Others are ‘Cleared’

The parents of Lauren Spierer claim to have “cleared” several persons of interest of suspicion in their daughter’s disappearance. However, their clearing of who they find interesting probably doesn’t reflect on what Bloomington detectives are doing behind the scenes. What’s most interesting is the level of suspicion Lauren’s parents are casting toward one person in particular, and this person has been the focus of questions since the day the 21-year-old fashion student vanished.

They do not believe that the missing girl’s boyfriend is in any way connected to this case, nor do they think a small handful of her friends know anything. However, when it comes to Corey Rossman, Rob and Charlene Spierer have nothing but suspicion. This young man was among the very last people to see Lauren Spierer before she vanished in the early morning hours of June 3, 2011.

He says that she walked home alone, and the last time he’d seen her, she was disappearing around the corner, on foot, to her apartment. However, beyond that he says he has amnesia due to being punched in the face that night. He claims to not remember anything more about Lauren’s whereabouts or activities of that night.

“I don’t believe he had any amnesia and I don’t think he is telling the truth,” said Charlene Spierer, and rightfully so.

Hopefully detectives are keeping an eye on these “persons of interest” whether they’ve been cleared by the family or not. It’s heartwarming that the Spierers are working with their missing daughter’s friends like this, but they should know right now that they can’t really trust anyone when it comes to this kind of investigation. It’s probably best to push the authorities into doing their jobs, while hiring private investigators like they were doing before. It’s not infrequent that the person responsible for a crime ends up being the last person you’d suspect.
