~Like Cotton Sheets…~

She was the kind of lady

whose perfume lingered

long after she left a room

not heavy with magnolia and citrus

more like a gentle wind scented

with a field of lemongrass and sage

Watching her was like watching

cotton sheets on a clothesline

on a blue sky summer day

It is hard not to admire a woman

who seems to slip into a moment

effortlessly, swaying her hips

carving her mark in time

without batting an adorned eye

sensuality without check

vision with the hint of promise

simmering under the surface

These words I write to honor her
