Lil Wayne Cuts Off Those Long Dreads

Rapper Lil Wayne no longer boasts those long, long dreadlocks that ventured way down his back. He cut them off and now sports a rather interesting but very short new ‘do.

According to a report from Hollywood Life, the 30-year-old had those dreads for many years so the new style is a bit of a drastic change. In fact, he has even mentioned his hair while rapping.

In his song I’m Single, he raps as follows.

“dreads braidedLil Wayne Fans Only to the back, Im chillin but my swag on full attack.”

And in his Drop It Low remix with Chris Brown, he mentions his hair yet again.

“Hair to the back, Hat to the front.”

In addition to his rapping success, Dwayne Carter, Jr. (his real name) is also an avid skateboarding enthusiast. He has Baker and Deathwish skateboard logos tattooed on to his face. Several months ago in Miami, when Justin Bieber was working on his hit album Believe, the two supposedly did some skateboarding during down time from the recording studio. He and the Beauty and A Beat singer collaborated on songs for Believe.

In addition to dreadlocks, the rapper has also sported braids of various lengths—but something resembling dreads has sprouted from his head for many years. These styles look like they are fairly easy to maintain but a bit difficult to keep clean. How do you manage to shampoo your hair when it’s twisted into those long, tight strands? There must be a special process used, because lots of people wear them, and surely they don’t go without washing their hair—or do they?

Which ‘do do you like best?
