Lil Wayne Says He Wasn’t Drunk Before Missed Bahamas Concert, Weezy Speaks Out

Lil Wayne is looking to set the record straight about a missed concert in the Bahamas a few years back. Promoters sued the rapper, after they paid him several hundred thousand dollars in advance and he didn’t show. Now, TMZ reports that Weezy claims he was never wasted, and that he didn’t show up at the big show because he thought it was canceled. Does he even have a shot at winning this suit?

Legal documents obtained by TMZ quote Weezy as saying, “At no point [that night] did I become so intoxicated that I passed out on a bed in my suit, or anywhere else.” That seems pretty clear, doesn’t it? He didn’t show up, apparently, because he didn’t think the concert was even happening.

Who do you believe in this case: The Red City Entertainment concert promoters who were furious about a no-show, or Lil Wayne, who swears he wasn’t trashed and wouldn’t ever knowingly skip out on a gig? That’s up to the court, but at least Weezy’s finally telling his side of the story.
