This long awaited for Lilly Pond Eight to Sixteen Point Round Ripple afghan pattern is finally available ( Visit Monica Kennedy’s Craftsy Pattern Store »). Yes, this is the infamous afghan used in my group logo and background. My loyal followers have been asking me to write this pattern since I first posted the picture of it back in April of 2008. I finally took the time to get it written down and am pleased to share it with my followers for FREE!

I made this afghan because I wanted a large afghan which could be laid on the floor for an infant to play on, and then use as a nap blanket as he or she grows into a toddler. The funny thing is my teenage sister-in-law loved it so much I let her have it. It is big enough to be a lapghan as well as an infant/toddler afghan. Be creative in color choices as the potential looks for this afghan are as varied as the numbers of yarns available. I have provided the Red Heart brand yarn colors I used for this particular sample – the swatch photos are more accurate to the true coloring of this afghan.
