Lindsay Lohan No Longer in Inferno – Malin Akerman to Take Over Her Role

Lindsay Lohan has been in the media spotlight lately, and unfortunately, not for future roles in Hollywood.  It’s never a good thing for an actress to be in the spotlight so much for reasons that bring about bad press, and poor Lindsay Lohan has had a lot of that lately.

Inferno Removes Lindsay Lohan From Lead Role

Lindsay Lohan was supposed to headline Inferno: A Linda Lovelace Story from Matthew Wilder, but unfortunately that’s not happening anymore.  The young actress was dropped from the film, and Deadline has reported that Malin Akerman will instead play Linda Lovelace.  Apparently “Lindsay was dropped as she’s impossible to insure and the producers loved Malin.”  Akerman has starred in 27 Dresses, Watchmen, and Couples Retreat and has a number of projects currently in development.  Sadly, it’s understandable that those behind Inferno would be wary of keeping Lohan on and they had to do what’s best for the movie–replace her.  Is Malin Akerman the right choice?  Entertainment Weekly points out that her recent projects do include indie movies (The Big Bang Club and Happythankyoumoreplease) and she did have a sex scene in Watchmen.  Guess audiences will just have to wait to pass judgment until the movie is released.

What do you think of this casting move?
