Lindsay Lohan Sent Back to Jail, No Chance of Release Before October 22

Lindsay Lohan is back in jail today, and according to Judge Elden Fox’s order that she be held until her hearing – as opposed to actually sentencing her to the jail time – the starlet is not eligible for bail, all but ensuring her 29-day stay is completed before her October 22nd hearing in Los Angeles County courts.

According to People, “Ms. Lohan cannot be released early because this isn’t a jail sentence.  She’s being held by court order until her hearing on Oct. 22. She will be held in the same conditions as her last stay, in a keep-away unit.”

BEVERLY HILLS, CA - SEPTEMBER 24: Actress Lindsay Lohan arrives for a mandatory court appearance before a judge at Beverly Hills Courthouse on September 24, 2010 in Beverly Hills, California. Lohan was ordered back to jail for failing a court-ordered drug test. Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox, who earlier this week revoked the 24-year-old actress' probation, set no bail, pending an October 22 probation hearing, meaning Lohan could spend the next 30 days behind bars. Yes, it seems as though Lohan is back in solitary confinement, citing “the safety and security of the entire jail system.”  Really?  The entire jail system?  That seems a bit of a dramatization, don’t you think?

Lohan’s holding comes on the heels of a violation of Judge Fox’s previous court order, where Lindsay was ordered to subject to random drug tests – amongst other conditions.  Though she submitted to the tests routinely, clearly Lohan didn’t get the message that she needed to actually pass them, having tested positive for cocaine last week.

Hopefully the stay will give her some time to reevaluate some of her life choices, almost all of which have been destructive and ill-conceived of late.
