Heading Into FedEx Forum

The Clippers are set to face the Grizzlies tonight in the NBA for their game 5 series. Both of these teams have looked great, but Los Angeles is now up 3-1 in the series.

Los Angeles will be looking to advance in the playoffs with a win tonight, and they will look to get an early start tonight against the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies will try to do everything in their power to force a game 6, and they will need everyone to be firing on all cylinders.

Los Angeles Looking To End The Series

Los Angeles won game 4 in spectacular fashion. It was a close game with the final results being 101-97 in favor of Los Angeles. In their win, Chris Paul came up big for them scoring 27 points. In overtime, he scored 8 points and made six out of six for his free throws. Griffin also had another breakout game scoring 30 points with 5 rebounds.

There has been a lot of discussion surrounding Griffin’s flopping whenever he is fouled, and even Chris Webber doesn’t respect it. He would caution Griffin from doing so because it will not get him any respect, but the refs seem to be calling it his way.

The Grizzlies seem to be on their last leg, and they will need to pull off something spectacular if they want to send this series into a game 6. In their game 5 loss, Conley scored 25 points and had 7 rebounds. Gay also provided some offensive production scoring 23 points, but it was not enough.

Keys To Victory

The Clippers need to set the tempo early in this game just like they did in game 5. They need to establish Griffin down low early on, which can then open up the perimeter shooting from Paul, Williams, and Butler. If they can do this, then they should walk away the victors tonight.

The Grizzlies will have to play better defense. They can’t let Paul get off tonight or they will be in some serious trouble. They also need Conley, Gay, and Randolph to provide some offensive scoring and some rebounds for second chance points.
