Heading Into Pepsi Center

Game 3 in the series goes down tonight between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets. Los Angeles is currently 2-0 in the series, and they will look to shut out the Nuggets with a win tonight.

Kobe Bryant went on to say that he feels they have a real shot at winning another championship this year. He says it will come down to rebounding and defense, and he said that is what determines whether teams win or lose in the playoffs. Well Los Angeles certainly has to be happy with their rebounding, which can be attributed to Andrew Bynum and Paul Gasol. Gasol had 10 rebounds and Bynum had 9. This helped them out tremendously and Kobe Bryant’s 38 points certainly didn’t hurt either.

The Nuggets are down 0-2 in the series, and they are on the last legs coming into this game with the Lakers. In their most recent loss, Ty Lawson scored 25 points. It was not enough, however, and the Nuggets seem to be lacking enough fire power to keep up with Los Angeles. They couldn’t contain Kobe during the whole game nor Andrew Bynum for that matter. They will need to play better defense if they want to stand a chance in tonight’s match up.

Keys To Victory

This game will be determined on who gets the rebounds on both ends of the floor. Los Angeles are second in rebounds per game this season, and it certainly has propelled them 2-0 in the series. They will need to do more of the same if they want to sweep the Nuggets in their series.

The Nuggets will have to have a better night on defense if they want to stand a chance. They need to contain Kobe throughout the entirety of the game, and they will need to have a better offensive showing from all of their players including the bench.
