Lucy Lawless Says She’s Worried Her ‘Spartacus’ Character Might Die

Show business is like Project Runway. One day you’re in, and the next day you’re out. It is the latter that worried former warrior princess, Lucy Lawless. The actress, best known for her role on Xena, admits she thought her days on Spartacus might be over.

“Part of me was like, ‘if it doesn’t happen, it’s fine, I always seem to find another job somewhere,'” Lawless admitted to Access Hollywood. “But part of me was also like, ‘Oh, they’d be crazy to kill me.'”

Fans worried whether Lucy would return as well. After all, her character — Lucretia appeared dead in a pool of her own blood when the Spartacus: Blood and Sand ended. But as it turns out, craft Lucretia survived to wreak havoc once more. Or did she?

According to Lawless, her character will become more spiritual this year. “…She’s lost everything, she’s more vulnerable….” Lucy goes on to explain, “…people in tight spots…can turn to religion for…strength….” That could mean almost anything for Lucretia in the future.

Whatever happens though, Lucy Lawless is happy that she’s still employed. No doubt her fans are as well.

Spartacus: Vengeance airs on Starz at 10:00 p.m., Friday nights, beginning January 27th.
