Madonna Takes Golden Globe for ‘Masterpiece’

Madonna received an award at the 2012 Golden Globes for her song Masterpiece—featured in her upcoming film, W.E. Upon arriving on stage to accept her award, she stuttered and stammered and then insulted French people by saying she had no excuse for being tongue-tied because she wasn’t French! She may be extremely talented, but she is also crass and often times socially questionable at best.

According to a report from the LA Times, the singer and actress has no chance of her song receiving an Academy Award in February, due to the fact that in the film, the song is featured too far into the credits at the end to qualify. That said, this Golden Globe will have to suffice for the Material Girl—at least for now.

MadonnaMasterpiece won a Golden Globe in the Best Original Song category. W.E. opens in February and is a romantic drama filmed in London, France, and the United States. Madonna serves as both director and co-writer of the film.

Madonna and Elton John have long been arch enemies, and he was even heard earlier in the evening on the red carpet dissing any chance the singer had of winning a Golden Globe. Actually, he said it like this:

Madonna doesn’t have a f***ing chance of winning tonight.

Oh, dear. No one wants to be one-upped by anyone, but certainly no one wants to be one-upped by Madonna! Poor Elton!

The Vogue singer looked lovely, despite her crude remark and managing to majorly piss off Elton John. Wearing a Reem Acra gown in black and silver. No matter how nice she looked, however, it never seems to make up for the fact that she’s a difficult woman to deal with.

Congrats to her just the same, however, for her Golden Globe for Masterpiece!
