Major Obama Donor Bill Maher Calls Women ‘Bimbos’

Bill Maher, a Barack Obama donor who gave $1 million to the president’s super PAC, has referred to women as bimbos, as well as viler terms, many times on his show.

But, Maher is no Rush Limbaugh, and the targets of his juvenile swipes are not Sandra Fluke. They are Republicans, so it’s apparently acceptable to defame them. Now, liberal pundit Kirsten Powers is weighing in on an obvious double standard applied to conservatives.

“It’s OK to call Sarah Palin all those words because she’s a public person, but this other woman (Fluke), who was in front of the, you know, hearing on the contraception, well, she’s a private person,” Powers remarked about the Limbaugh/Fluke flap. “It’s, like, oh I’m sorry, it’s ok to call someone the c-word if they’re a public person?”

Considering he is a top Obama donor, Maher needs to be held accountable for his misogynistic statements. Maher has called Michele Bachmann a “boob,” made jokes about Rick Santorum’s wife, Karen, and a vibrator, and drops the “c-word” regularly.

If Maher were a Mitt Romney supporter, instead of an Obama donor, the campaign would be forced to return his money. Limbaugh, after being dropped by several advertisers, publicly apologized to Fluke for calling her a “slut” during his radio show.
