This has been a challenging week for Maksim Chmerkovskiy on Dancing With the Stars. Of course everybody watched as he snapped at Len during Monday night’s show, and he’s made the media rounds defending his comments and adding more fuel to the fire. He is prepping two dances for next Monday’s show with his partner Hope Solo, and he just ran into a snag: a broken toe.
In the week hours of Friday morning, Maksim Chmerkovskiy took to Twitter to clue fans in on the latest. “One thing that could make this Halloween weekend better—-NOT having a broken toe! Got <s>@</s>TeddyV & <s>@</s>BigMervLA helping out!” Perhaps its better that if one of the two was to get injured it is the dance pro over the celebrity, though Hope Solo’s athletic background certainly puts her in a position to push through injuries as well. Will a broken toe slow Maks down at all? It sounds like he’s brought in help for now, and hopefully he’ll be able to push through Monday night.
Everybody will certainly be watching when Dancing With the Stars returns Monday night, to see not only how Maks and the judges interact after this week’s drama, but how he dances given the broken toe. Everybody says they’re moving on from the drama, but Maksim Chmerkovskiy did say on GMA this week “I have nothing to apologize for to Len, and certainly not to Carrie Ann. She can make all the faces she wants.”
Fans seem to be standing behind Maks and Hope after his comments, but some feel he crossed the line. What’s your take? Is it time for Maksim Chmerkovskiy to take a break for a season, or were his comments right on target? Is his broken toe a bit of karma snapping back at him, or just another obstacle he needs to crush on the way to earning his first mirror-ball trophy?
